Jake is a seasoned commercial real estate professional with over a decade of experience brokering sale and lease transactions. His expertise spans all major commercial asset classes, including industrial, office, retail, multi-family, and hotel properties. With a particular geographic focus on the City of Vancouver and the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, Jake has honed his skill set and market knowledge to effectively advise clients through the acquisition and disposition of income-producing properties and development land.
Jake began his real estate brokerage career with Avison Young in 2013 and rose through the ranks as a valued member of the investment division. Over his tenure at Avison Young, he was instrumental in completing more than 50 commercial real estate sale transactions, totaling over $600 million in deal value, and facilitating leases for approximately 500,000 square feet of space.
Known for prioritizing his clients' needs, Jake has a reputation for working collaboratively with internal colleagues and external partners to achieve outstanding outcomes. Jake’s approach has helped in building long-term, trusted relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.
Prior to his career in real estate brokerage, Jake gained recognition as an expert in enclosure integrity and building sciences, contributing to energy efficiency through the use of diagnostic equipment and the implementation of programs such as Passivhaus, Natural Resources Canada’s ecoENERGY, LEED, and Energy Star.
Jake joined Macdonald Commercial as Vice President in 2024 with a high degree of enthusiasm and dedication to his craft.
